My Story: How I Became an Alcohol Freedom Coach

Like many people, my relationship with alcohol started early in life. I experienced loss and trauma at a young age, and alcohol quickly became my way of emotionally regulating—even though I didn’t realize it at the time.

It gave me the illusion of:

  • Relief from stress

  • A way to connect with others

  • A reward for getting through the day

So, I kept using it. It became my tool for everything—celebration, relaxation, socializing, unwinding.

Even when I stopped drinking during my pregnancies, I knew I’d return to it because I still saw it as my go-to coping mechanism.

The Moment Everything Changed

As time passed, a disconnect started to grow.

I was:

  • Questioning everything else I consumed (chemicals, food ingredients, health choices).

  • But giving alcohol a free pass—because I couldn’t imagine life without it.

I started experiencing cognitive dissonance—that battle in my head where I knew alcohol wasn’t serving me, but I still felt trapped by it.

🔹 Stopping felt miserable.
🔹 Drinking was also starting to feel miserable.

And that’s when I came across This Naked Mind by Annie Grace—a book that changed everything for me.

Why This Approach Is Different

For the first time, I realized:

💡 I wasn’t broken. My brain was just following conditioned beliefs about alcohol—beliefs I had never questioned before.

I had always assumed:

  • Alcohol relaxes me.

  • Alcohol makes life more fun.

  • Alcohol is how people connect.

But through science, research, and mindset shifts, I started to see alcohol differently—and the desire for it naturally faded away.

This wasn’t about forcing myself to stop drinking—it was about aligning my conscious mind and subconscious beliefs so that alcohol lost its appeal effortlessly.

No more fighting cravings.
No more shame cycles.
Just freedom.
